This sterling silver bezel component mounting features walls modeled from gallery wire and holds one 8mm round cabochon or other flat-back stone. A wide rim inside the walls supports the stone and reduces metal weight, making the mounting more affordable. Add a bail to the attach ring for a pendant, or add a jump ring and use the component as an earring drop, charm or as one element in more complex necklace and bracelet designs. Bezel cups provide an easy way to set your stones and finish with clean lines and professional-looking results. Place your stone in the bezel and push the walls inward over the stone, holding it in place. For added security, if desired, place a drop or two of jeweler's epoxy in the cup before placing the stone. Oxidize the component before setting to highlight the rope detailing.
